Lake Tegern and Wallberg
About 50 kilometers from Munich, the beautiful Lake Tegern surrounded by mountains invites you to go cycling and swimming. The high mountains offer an impressive panorama and, like the 1722-meter Wallberg, are also ideal for hiking. If the climb up the Wallberg is too strenuous for you, you can alternatively take the gondola up. While you're there, enjoy the stunning views from the top station at 1,620 meters, the fresh mountain air, or stop in at the Wallbergmoosalm and enjoy some Bavarian cuisine.
Hellabrunn Zoo
At Munich's Hellabrunn Zoo, you can marvel at animals from all over the world at any time of year. Hellabrunn Zoo was founded in 1911 as the world's first geozoo. This special, geographic zoo design has been adopted by many other zoos today. Visitors have the opportunity to take part in a special kind of zoo tour: Staff members guide groups through the zoo for a full 90 minutes and tell individual and emotional stories about the animals or the history of the zoo - a unique experience!
Nymphenburg Castle
Fountains, an extensive manicured park and an architecturally magnificent palace - Nymphenburg Castle attracts around 300,000 visitors from all over the world every year. This impressive building should not be missing on their to do list for Munich! The palace park invites with its variety of flowers for long walks, while the castle towers majestically in the background.
